Located in Zhuhai, adjacent to Macau and 130 km from Guangzhou, in the southern part of the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong Province, the project site covers an area of 50,000 m², with a total built area of 124,700 m² — including 32,000 m² of underground space housing 1,500 parking spots. The building is optimally positioned to provide a spacious entrance plaza to the southwest, while preserving land to the northeast for potential future expansion.
This 800-bed public hospital specializes in gynecology, pediatrics, maternity, and fertility services, and was awarded “Best Chinese Hospital Project” in 2017. The design is centered on the idea of protection — expressed through the building’s envelope, softness, and fluidity. The spatial concept is based on a thick, outer “skin” surrounding a central courtyard. Consultation areas and patient rooms form the smooth, uniform outer shell, which embraces a central garden — the heart of the hospital, around which all circulation on the base level is organized.
The garden extends onto the green roof of the technical platforms, offering patients places for relaxation, physical activity, and social interaction.
