Yesterday morning, we had the immense pleasure of inaugurating the second building from the master plan for the modernization of Hôpital Saint-Joseph: a major step in strengthening healthcare services, improving patient pathways, and supporting the evolution of medical practices.
This project is guided by a clear vision: transform the existing structure without betraying it, rethink spaces and uses while preserving the soul of a hospital deeply rooted in the life of the Prado. A contemporary, elegant architecture that respects the site’s history, and was unanimously praised yesterday by all the guests.

The speeches highlighted the quality of the work carried out, the ambition of the project, and the importance of hospital rehabilitation as a societal challenge. All praised the commitment, coherence, and beauty of the project, reflecting a true convergence of perspectives: a building that is useful, human, modern… and deeply faithful to the hospital’s history.
The new building allows for more specialties, integrates innovative equipment, improves circulation, and provides bright, functional, and welcoming hospital spaces. As Delphine Beji emphasized in her speech, “To rehabilitate is to choose to transform with humility toward the heritage and ambition for the quality of care.”
A collective endeavor
This project is the result of the mobilization of many teams: the hospital staff, partner companies, and of course AIA Life Designers, the project manager engaged alongside Saint-Joseph for nearly 10 years (Kudos to Estelle, Ramiro, Mohamed, Emile, Marilou, Elsa, Oliver). A long-term project, a shared vision, and a single goal: to offer a hospital that is open, efficient, and profoundly human.
