[EVENT] #Inauguration of the exhibition “How Are We Doing? – Rhône-Alpes”, by the AIA Foundation in partnership with CAUE Rhône Métropole.

The inauguration on Tuesday, April 1st, was a meaningful event made possible thanks to the presence and support of our partners and many visitors. A warm thank you to Frédéric Pronchery, President of CAUE, Sébastien Sperto, Director of CAUE, Béatrice Vessiller, Vice-President of the Lyon Metropolis, and Grégory Doucet, Mayor of Lyon, for enthusiastically opening this new exhibition cycle. These kinds of exchanges enrich the AIA Foundation’s ongoing research into the interdependent relationships between health, the city, and the environment.

Special thanks to Christine Hoarau-Beauval, Curator of the exhibition, Olivier de LA BARRE, President, and the entire dedicated team: Olivia Rousseaux, Simon Davies, Marie-Alice Lincoln, Charlotte Perrier Janitor, Alexandre Callens, Adèle Bougard, Florent Perroud, and Magali Trinquier.

The exhibition explores the connections between urban life and health through a variety of mediums: historical retrospectives, interviews with local figures involved in urban health, a methodological tool highlighting the major and minor challenges of the studied neighborhoods, field investigations, sensory diagnostics, and inspiring projects.

Focusing on three specific areas of the Lyon metropolitan region—Oullins-Pierre-Bénite – La Mulatière, La Confluence, and Charpennes Tonkin—selected for their unique urban contexts (ongoing transformations, socio-economic challenges, proximity to rivers, etc.), the findings call for a tailored prioritization of actions based on local issues, in pursuit of urban planning that supports health and well-being for all.

The exhibition is on view until November 28, 2025, at CAUE Rhône Métropole.
