[PROJECT] #Official inauguration of the Bike Park at Nantes South Station, a new hub for #Mobility.

A new cornerstone of the overall Multimodal Exchange Hub (PEM) project and the Nantes South Station Carousel.

This new complex, designed by AIA Life Designers and DREAM, and built by Groupe ETPO, connects the rail and bus stations and is fully part of the transformation of southeast Nantes, launched by the Grand Projet de Ville and led by Nantes Métropole Aménagement. A multimodal hub designed for seamless travel.

The #PEM Gare Sud integrates multiple services adapted to all modes of transport:
– a 24/7-accessible bike park with entry control, lockers, charging stations, repair workshop, and complementary services;
– a taxi courtyard in the basement, directly connected to the station rotunda for a smooth and legible user journey;
– a 201-space car park for rental vehicles, including 40 spots equipped with EV charging points.

The bus station, the final piece of the project, will open in autumn 2025.

With its 1,216 new spaces, the South Station bike park strengthens an already substantial offer around the station, bringing the total to over 2,400 bicycle parking spots. Designed for all types of users: standard bikes, cargo bikes, longtails, e-bikes, and PRM access. The facility also includes secure lockers, charging points, and a maintenance area.

A mixed-use program : the tertiary section of the building will host 12,000 m² of office space by BATI-NANTES from autumn 2025. Built with a timber structure (@briand construction bois), using recycled and bio-based materials, it embodies a new generation of office real estate, combining modularity, comfort, and energy performance (E3C2, BREEAM Very Good). A suspended garden 12 meters above ground will complete the ensemble.

The inauguration featured activities, bike workshops, face painting, helmet customization, cycling circuits, and a festive musical atmosphere by DJ Juk Bike. The event concluded with a speech by Johanna Rolland, Mayor of Nantes and President of Nantes Métropole, followed by a cocktail offered by Nantes Métropole, in this new place of mobility and life.

Thanks to all the partners involved:
Nantes Métropole Aménagement, Bati-Nantes, DREAM, AIA Life Designers, ETPO, ANDRE BTP, Briand Construction Bois, Zéphyr Paysage, Gamba, Namixis, as well as all the teams mobilized to make this project an urban, social, and environmental landmark in the heart of Nantes.
