OUICARE Headquarters, Le Mans

Ergonomic and Adaptable

The office floors benefit from natural light and views on all four façades of the building. Meeting and focus rooms are centrally located on levels 1 and 2, enjoying soft indirect lighting reflected from the large mineral and planted wall in the lobby/agora. The workspaces offer highly varied configurations.

The depth of the floor plates allows for multiple spatial typologies. The widest plates include dual circulation paths. This hierarchy—one primary, one secondary—enables the integration of “buffer spaces” that separate support services from the main traffic flow. These spaces take the form of meeting rooms, phone booths, informal lounges, or cafeterias. This service strip also includes janitorial spaces.

Furniture design supports user ownership of the space. Breakout areas and cafeterias offer a home-like atmosphere through materials and furnishings. Office furniture varies by zone to promote orientation and a sense of belonging.

The connection to the outdoors is ever-present. Levels 3, 4, and 5 feature direct access to green terraces, all interconnected by exterior staircases. This outdoor pathway is one of the project’s key strengths, creating fluid movement between floors.
